Studio Profile

Matthew Storrie, AIA
Founder, Principal Architect

Matthew Storrie is an architect whose practice navigates the intersection of cultural legacy, civic stewardship, public engagement, and design precision. With nearly two decades of experience across residential, cultural, retail, and hospitality markets, Matthew is an architect licensed in New York State and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Previously, as Project Director at Adjaye Associates New York, Matthew led significant institutional and urban projects across the United States and West Africa, many with deep cultural sensitivities, including the Princeton University Art Museum, a 144,000 square-foot museum and education center, and over 1,000 acres of major master plan developments in San Francisco, CA, USA, Cleveland, OH, USA, and Accra, Ghana. As a Project Architect, Matthew also leant significant leadership and contributions to The Studio Museum in Harlem, Ethelbert Cooper Gallery at Harvard University, and the McCarter Switching Station, an animated site of commissioned public artwork.

Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, USA, Matthew's work is marked by a fluency in historical contexts, a nuanced understanding of governance structures, and a commitment to architecture as a catalyst for public life. Matthew holds a Master’s Degree from Princeton University and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Kentucky, where he was awarded the prestigious Henry Adams Medal. His commitment to architectural education is demonstrated through numerous invitations as a Guest Critic at top institutions, including Princeton University, Columbia GSAPP, UC Berkeley, Cooper Union, Cornell University, and others.

This page contains public website terms and a separately identified Client Portal Terms agreement. Browsing the public website does not require agreement to client-account terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. You can change optional analytics through Analytics settings under Small Print. Newsletter subscription is a separate choice.

Website Terms

This website presents the work and services of STORRIE Architecture PLLC. Professional services are subject to licensing and authorization requirements in the project location. Public material is general information, not project-specific architectural, engineering, code or construction advice. An inquiry or introductory meeting does not establish a professional engagement. Scope, fees, responsibilities and deliverables require a separate written agreement.

Materials belong to STORRIE or their respective owners. Browsing and sharing links are welcome; reproduction, adaptation, publication or commercial use requires permission except where law permits. Credits may identify work performed at another practice. For permission or press requests, contact info@storrie.org.

Information can change or contain errors, and access may be interrupted. Confirm project-specific information with us. External services have their own terms and practices. Products shown are not necessarily for sale. Any future sale needs its own pre-order terms. Updates do not retroactively amend signed engagements or completed purchases. Nothing here excludes rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Acceptable use

Use the website and portal lawfully. Do not send spam, impersonate others, submit another person's email without permission, introduce malicious code, bypass access controls or verification, probe for vulnerabilities without authorization, or interfere with service. Submit information only with authority for the purpose. Do not misuse materials or infringe others’ rights. Authorized browsing and sharing links are welcome. We may restrict access or investigate misuse. Report concerns to info@storrie.org.

The website is for viewing the studio's work, legitimate inquiries, scheduling consultations and subscribing to studio news. Client Portal Terms

This Client Portal Terms section incorporates only the Acceptable Use section in this same saved version. It governs invited access to the STORRIE Architecture PLLC client portal and supplements the relevant signed professional engagement agreement. The engagement agreement controls conflicts concerning services, scope, fees, authority or amendments. Privacy Policy is information, not blanket consent; analytics and marketing choices remain separate.

Keep sign-in details secure, provide accurate information and access only authorized projects and functions. Report suspected unauthorized access promptly. We may restrict access reasonably to protect people, records or the service. Contact info@storrie.org for alternative communication or continuing access to project records in accordance with the engagement and applicable obligations.

Current portal functions support contact information, project memberships, addresses, client nominations and responsibility confirmation. A sole eligible client representative may be designated; client nominations and confirmation remain distinct from an administrator recording offline confirmation. Representative or payment-contact designation is not a debit authorization. Portal acceptance alone creates no project approval authority and authorizes no charge.

Design, cost or change approvals, billing execution, payment processing, recurring debits and product sales are not enabled by this agreement. Before introducing them, we will identify the exact action, actor authority, reviewed document and version, cost or scope effect, confirmation, evidence and receipt, and obtain any additional agreement required. Signed professional engagement agreements are not replaced.

Maintain your own important records. Availability cannot be guaranteed and automatic backups are not configured. Tell us promptly about errors or unauthorized instructions. Material agreement changes may require explicit reacceptance; editorial changes do not automatically authorize new purposes or transactions. You can retain the exact version you accepted.
